Right now we are inviting you to join us for gravestone cleaning in the Historic Middlebury Cemetery. Cleaning is a joint effort by the Middlebury Cemetery Association, Inc., and the Middlebury Historical Society, Inc., and was begun in 2019. The historical Society supplies special cleaning fluid, scrapers, brushes, gloves, water and everything needed for cleaning. You are encouraged to wear working clothes and shoes and a wide-brim hat; we encourage you to use sunscreen and insect spray. Instruction for first-timers is happily given.
Event dates in July include July 8 and 22, 2024. We meet at the cemetery at 9 a.m. and finish up by 11:30 a.m. The cemetery is located off Cemetery Road on Route 64, where North Street, Artillery Road and the Middlebury Road (Route 64) meet, behind the Middlebury Garage.
